One-on-One Mentoring at IJAsia18: Data Journalism and Sustainable Journalism

GIJN is excited to offer one-on-one mentoring on data journalism and sustainable journalism practices at the upcoming Asian Investigative Journalism Conference in Seoul this October 5-7. These special sessions are in addition to our regular panels and workshops, and are designed to give personalized feedback and advice on the challenges you and your organization face.

On Sustainable Journalism, IJAsia18 offers hour-long mentoring sessions with our experts on fundraising, audience engagement and commercial revenue.

On Data Journalism, IJAsia18 offers hour-long mentoring sessions with leading data journalists on such topics as analysis, visualization, coding, and scraping.

The meetings will be scheduled throughout the conference.

Please note that there are limited places for these mentorships. If you wish to participate, complete the relevant forms below by 22 September 2018.

We will let you know by the end of September if you have received a mentoring session.

Big thanks to the many mentors who are volunteering their time to make this pilot program a success.

  1. Thanks for the information and the great work you have been doing over the years.
I am a journalist from Liberia, West Africa.
Can I apply for the One-on-One Mentoring Program at IJAsia 18?

    • Thanks for the nice thoughts, Jacob. Yes, you can apply for a mentoring spot, but you will need to get yourself to the conference, find lodging and pay the registration fee. This is not a travel grant. But for people who are attending IJAsia18, it’s a great chance to spend an hour with experts on data journalism and sustainability strategies for newsrooms.
